FIRST AND FOREMOST: Thank you for considering us to sell your vintage clothing! We truly appreciate the history of vintage clothing and would love to give your cherished goods a new life.

For both warehouse selling & we-come-to-you selling, EVERYONE joins the waitlist! We will be drawing names from the waitlist only until it is cleared.

Please sign up as soon as you want to sell and reply yes/confirm so we can text you about appointments directly - that is our preferred method of communication. If we can’t text, we’ll email, or call. Please put any deadlines (moving dates, etc) in your request and we will try our best to get you through.

We don’t want to waste your time and are happy to give a yay/nay and guide you prior to your appointment. Just a note, we MUST see it in person to assess true condition and the only offer is that of our buyers.

WE COME TO YOU SELLING

WE PREFER TO COME TO YOU SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO PICK AND CHOOSE. Do you have A LOT OF STUFF? Like… a lot A LOT? Or even a full closet? Multiple closets? A whole house, barn, attic that hasn’t been touched in a while? If that’s the case, our buyers come to you! We can do all sorts of visits - big and small!

Whether you are downsizing, moving, a loved one has passed, there’s a hoarding scenario, or you’re a collector - we treat all situations with respect. We’re happy to come for just a pile of clothes in your living room. But, we’re used to all kinds of spaces, and we’re not afraid to dig. We regularly travel to procure the best vintage clothing possible.

How to present the items at your location totally depends on whatever you’re comfortable with. It’s fine to leave it where it is, but if you’d rather display it and put it on a rack, that’s just fine with us too!

There’s a few different locations to choose from, see the list below. Choose the BEST applicable when signing up. We will confirm your exact address / location when making the actual appointment.

As a final note, we’re happy to wear face masks when coming to your home / location.

WAREHOUSE SELLING

YOU COME TO OUR WAREHOUSE TO SELL If you have a SMALL amount of items that you are able to get in your car, you’re welcome to come to our warehouse to sell them. If you’re having to pick and choose to get under the item limit, we’d prefer to see all of your items in your home.

There are a few different appointment times based on the amount of items you have. While we’re not hard and fast about the number of items, but please use this as a guide of how much stuff to bring! Bring items folded in a reusable container that we can return to you. NO trash bags and NO items on hangers, please.

Pick the the appointment length that fits these guidelines the best:

  • 15 Minutes: 5 items or less

  • 30 Minutes: 25 items / 1 jewelry box / 1 suitcase / 1 laundry basket

  • 1 Hour: 50 items / 2-3 jewelry boxes / 2-3 suitcases / 2-3 laundry baskets

APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED / NO WALK INS Sorry, the point of the waitlist system is that everyone has an appointment in the order requests are received! Additionally, we do not do any buying at our State Street retail shop.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We sell vintage clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, accessories, wall art, and home goods for everyone from the time periods of the 1900s through 1999. An item is considered vintage if it is at least 20 years or older. Our main demographic of customers is mostly 18 to 34 year olds who are environmentally conscious and are not afraid to take some fashion risks.

BUT… WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO BUY? We are ALWAYS looking for things that are INTERESTING and OLD and we love POP CULTURE and ROCK AND ROLL! We are looking for YOUTHFUL and FUN clothing, reflective of the counter-cultures of decades past. We want the bellbottoms you wore when you were going through your “hippie” phase! Or, the black leather studded jacket from when you were a punk rocker in 1977! Your mod dresses of the 60’s, sugary sweet 1950’s new look fit-and-flare dresses, and the wacky acid-wash denim of the 80’s. Think ICONIC, items that would cause you to reminisce and say “Remember when we wore that?!” Fashion is cyclical, so many of the things in your closet are relevant today!

  • Peruse our Instagram or TikTok (@thegetupvintage on both platforms)

  • Check our MOST WANTED list!

  • Send a photo!

ITEMS PURCHASED OUTRIGHT We want to give you cash on the spot for your great quality vintage items. We pay more for RARE and QUALITY pieces.

SELLBACKS Because we are buy/sell, every piece we consider we look at as if we are seeing it for the first time. If you have pieces that you purchased from us that no longer fit or did not work out for you, we do buy back most vintage we sell. However, we must again evaluate the item for designer, season, size, condition, and how long ago customers may have seen the item on the first go-round - so while we may want a great majority of pieces back, it is not a 100% guarantee.

WE DO NOT BUY SHEIN, H&M, Forever 21, ZARA, or ANY modern/fast fashion; business casual attire / business suiting; wedding / bridesmaids / dresses; formal military officer’s suits; formal dish sets, silverware, trinkets.

FEES Warehouse appointments are free to book with no cancellation fees. Home visit appointments are free to book, but have a cancellation fee of $50 if not cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the appointment time.

RE: THE WAITLIST Scroll down! There are more appointment types available! And if you are choosing a warehouse visit, you’ll have to select “The Getup Warehouse” twice. If you are choosing a we-come-to-you visit, you’ll have to select “Your Location” twice. Our appt provider is great, but won’t let us delete the other location from the other type of visit yet. Workin’ on it.

PLEASE ONLY JOIN THE WAITLIST ONCE. If you get an email or text confirmation from Square, you are good to go. Check your spam box. We often contact for appointments by type (all in one location, for example) and may not message you immediately. We do not remove anyone on the list until we’ve reached out to you, and receive no response for one week.
